The Atrium Pivoting Wall

The Atrium, a mid 70’s office block in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam was transformed by MVSA Architects in 2017. A key element of the internal redesign is a huge pivoting wall that opens and divides the large foyer. Four door leaves, each weighing 500kg, offer a full 360 degree rotation at the touch of a finger.

At Bridge-ette Villa, a pivot door powered by the FritsJurgens System M+ seamlessly merges interior and exterior. The combination of glass, European oak, and reflective surfaces used across the pivot door and secondary panel, ensures a breathtaking entrance, regardless of whether it's open or closed.

In 2024, Mikkelsen Architects transformed a listed boiler house into Dansehallerne, a striking contemporary dance centre. Paying homage to its industrial past, the building features a central 'box' housing the stage, back-stage, and foyer areas. Five immense, sound-insulating pivot doors clad in textured aluminium move gracefully on the 

 – the perfect choice for this world-class dance studio.

Components

System M+ is FritsJurgens' most advanced pivot, offering control over every part of the door movement, including latch control, damper control, and 30° speed control. The ideal choice for large and oversized exterior doors due to the 500kg weight range. The System M+ is also an exceptional choice for interior doors, suitable for use with a wide variety of materials, and both wide and narrow doorways. Expanding the possibilities for internal pivoting door design, the System M+ is fire-rated (BS EN 1634) for 30 minutes for timber doors.

Envo can supply a timber door leaf to your specification whether you're looking for a hidden or a contrasting finish. Envo Flush is the perfect long-lasting solution even in high-traffic areas thanks to our no plaster crack guarantee. Where to use a single flush door.

Envo Flush door leaves come in a range of veneers, painted, or in a primed finish ready for painting. Examples of our timber veneers are shown below, however, other options can be sourced if required.

Victorian Townhouse Reimagined

London-based practice Layzell Architects recently completed the renovation of a 4-storey home in the heart of Kensington, seamlessly blending traditional and modern design elements to create a sophisticated, cohesive interior. Central to the reconfiguration of the floor plans were several Envo internal door systems, carefully chosen to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic of the space. Among these, the Envo Slide pocket door system played a key role.

Aspen at Consort Place

Completed in 2024, the Aspen at Consort Place is a mixed-use development by FEC (Far East Consortium) and Pilbrow & Partners. Aspen consists of 495 prime residential apartments. At 65 stories high, it is the third-tallest residential building in Canary Wharf. Envo collaborated with the developers and architects on over 600 door sets, including timber sliding and flush doors for the Aspen apartments and the adjoining Dorset hotel.

The spacious 8th-floor apartment showcases several of our 'invisible' flush and sliding pocket doors, seamlessly complementing the curved clay plaster walls.

The Envo Slide complete pocket door system is available for single or double doors. Our double pocket door kit features an invisible top track leaving just a fine 18mm line. The system is supplied with our unique access pocket which means the doors are fully adjustable once installed. Their ability to slide smoothly into the wall makes them an excellent choice for living and dining rooms. Envo double pocket doors can also be fitted with a lock making them ideal for bathroom or ensuite use.
